Engaged by a major NSW Government department to deliver mandatory climate-related financial disclosures under the AASB S2 framework. GreenSmart established full data infrastructure to capture Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, integrated governance and strategic disclosures into departmental policies, and developed an automated Master Sustainability Report template — enabling data-driven disclosures at scale across multiple entities.
Engaged by a major renewable energy client to deliver a full surface water impact assessment for a complex solar and battery energy storage project site. Five designated waterways traverse the site, with a significant flood-contributing river immediately adjacent. GreenSmart is conducting hydraulic and flood modelling under present-day and climate-change scenarios to support planning and environmental approval.
A private capital client engaged GreenSmart to conduct ESG due diligence for a proposed BESS project, aligned with the Equator Principles. GreenSmart assessed environmental and social risks, reviewed the project proponent's governance framework, and evaluated its capacity to manage ESG risks — directly informing the client's investment decision and supporting alignment with international sustainable finance standards.
GreenSmart guided a leading environmental consultancy through a two-year strategic repositioning in the ESG market. Engagements included a comprehensive market analysis, a strategic white paper presented to the Board, definition of new ESG service offerings, organisation-wide change management, and development of a double-materiality ESG framework embedded into governance, policies and procedures — culminating in the company's 2024 Sustainability Report.
Following detection of a produced water leak resulting in elevated salinity into a receiving creek, GreenSmart was engaged to produce an independent technical impact assessment. Drawing on in-field and desktop water quality, hydrology, flooding and aquatic ecology data collected by other service providers, GreenSmart synthesised and interpreted the findings to assess impacts to the receiving aquatic environment — providing the client with a defensible, expert-reviewed technical report for regulatory purposes.
GreenSmart was engaged by a major renewable energy client to undertake a comprehensive desktop surface water assessment in support of a planning permit application for a BESS project. The scope covered regulatory framework analysis, characterisation of the existing surface water environment, identification and assessment of potential construction and operational impacts, conceptual stormwater design, and recommendation of appropriate mitigation and management measures — delivering the technical basis for planning and environmental approval.
